This is a directory of government agencies and vetted nonprofit organizations that help mobile and manufactured home residents in Maryland. State agencies

• Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) — issues and transfers the certificate of title for a mobile home and handles a home that is permanently installed or converted to real property.
• Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) — administers the State's building and manufactured-housing codes and receives notice when a mobile home park is sold (Real Property §8A-202(h)).
• Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) — assesses real property and works with county finance offices on the local mobile home tax.
• Maryland Public Service Commission — regulates electric, gas, water, and other utilities and their rates in Maryland.

Consumer protection

• Maryland Attorney General — Consumer Protection Division — where Maryland consumers can learn their rights and file a consumer complaint.

Federal

• HUD — Maryland — HUD's Maryland hub, including how to find a HUD-approved housing counselor.
• HUD — Office of Manufactured Housing Programs — the federal office responsible for the manufactured home construction and safety standards (the HUD Code).

• Maryland Legal Aid — Maryland's statewide free civil legal aid program, with housing and landlord-tenant help across the state.
• Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland — the State's coordinator of volunteer-lawyer programs, including housing and consumer clinics.
